Professor Wong obtained his Bachelor (1985) and Doctorate (1999) degrees from the University of New South Wales. He is now an Emeritus Professor of Medicine in the Division of Neurology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and an honorary consultant at the Canossa Hospital, Central, Hong Kong. He works as a specialist in neurology in a clinic in Central.
In the past, Professor Wong served as Secretary of the World Stroke Organization (Geneva) and as Deputy Editor for the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry (published by the British Medical Journal) and Stroke (published by the American Heart Association), as well as Secretary of the Asian and Oceanian Association of Neurology.
Professor Wong has led numerous international research projects on neurological diseases, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, neurorehabilitation, and dementia.
He has received many prestigious awards, such as the President Award from the World Stroke Organization, the Croucher Senior Medical Fellowship, the Bruce Schoenberg Award from the American Academy of Neurology, the Chapter of Neurologist Gold Medal from the Singapore Academy of Medicine, the National Science & Technology Award, and the First Prize for Scientific Output from the Ministry of Health (PRC).
He has published 474 indexed publications on Web of Science, with 22,696 citations and an H-Index of 74.
