Dr Lai Hei Wai attained his BMed/MD from the University of New South Wales in 2022. He then completed his internship at Nepean Blue Mountains local health district in Sydney, Australia.

He returned to Hong Kong in 2024 and commenced his surgical training. He is currently a resident surgical trainee at the department of Neurosurgery, Prince of Wales Hospital.
