Dr Ma obtained his medical degree in Sdyney University in 1982 . After he finished his Internship in Westmead Hospital , Dr Ma continued his training in Paediatric in Westmead Hospital( Sdyney ), Pembury Hospital ( Kent, UK ) , Nethersole , Grantham , Queen Mary Hospital ( Hong Kong ) over the following few years. Dr Ma left the hospital service and went to Private Practice in September 1987. Dr Ma is now a Solo General Practitioner/ Family Physician in Private Practice.

Dr Ma obtained a Diploma in Child Health( DCH ) from College of Physician & Surgeon ( Ireland) in 1986.

Dr Ma was also awarded Fellowship from Royal Australian College of General Practitioner in 1998.

Honorary Appointment

Dr Ma was appointed Honorary Assistant Professor in Community & Family Medicine, CUHK in 1996. Dr Ma is now an Honoraey Clinical associate Professor at the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care, Faculty of Medicine , CUHK.

Dr Ma has been appointed as CPR Instructor / Examiner by Hong Kong College of Family Physician ( HKCFP ) since year 2000. Dr Ma is currently a member of The Board of Education , HKCFP.

Dr Ma was appointed a member of Hospital Governing Committee of Tseung Kwan O hospital from 2003 to 2013.

Dr Ma was appointed a Member of Hospital Governing Committee of United Christian Hospital from 2013 to 2022.

Dr Ma was appointed a member of the Kowloon Regional Advisory Committee of Hospital Authority from 2003 to 2014.

Dr Ma has been serving as Assistant Superintendant ( Surgeon ) at Kowloon Division , St John Ambulance Brigade since 2005.
