Dr. Chu worked in Hospital Authority for 20 years and was COS of the Dept. of FM&PHC of the HKEC before he left for private market. He established and led the development of Family Medicine in Hospital Authority. He taught extensively in Hong Kong and Mainland China on various topics of Family Medicine and Health Care Management.

His special interest is on psychological management and family therapy for patient or family with psychosomatic problems. He worked closely with HA IT team to establish the Family Medicine Module in HA CMS.

He led his department actively participate in primary care research and involving in 20 local and international drug trial on various topic in the primary care setting.

He is a strong believer of collaboration, supported the development of Primary Care Nurses, worked closely with NGOs and Social sector in Patient Empowerment, Psychosocial Care and led the development of IMHP.

He serve in the HKCFP and taught medical students. He is currently Vice-President of the HKCMA and Council Member of the Medical Conscience.

He has been hosting radio program to share medical knowledge and answer on-air enquiry on weekly basis since 2001 in the MetroRadio station.
